There are quite a lot of theatrical projects I would adore to be a part of some day. A couple of my favorite plays, and two that I would love to either act in or direct (or both...but not at the same time), are Steven Dietz's Private Eyes and David Auburn's Proof.

I also have a complete obsession with a couple of Sarah Kane plays, most notably 4.48 Psychosis and Crave. I would do just about anything to be able to direct either one of these shows. Especially 4.48 Psychosis. It was the final play written by Sarah Kane before her suicide, and is an amazing look at the mind of somebody dealing with severe depression and suicidal thoughts. Also, Psychosis deals with the relationships between the depressed individual, the lover, and the doctor. So much is dealt with in the course of this roughly 60-75 minute one-act, and handled in the most amazing way I've yet seen.

Also, and this ties into the archaeologist/anthropologist/Hellenist in me, I would love to recreate a day within the City Dionysia (the major Greek festival honoring Dionysus, the god of theatre)--including a series of classical Greek plays, and the rituals. Once I attend grad school this is ultimately what I would like to do as my thesis. I'd have to gather a huge number of volunteers to help put it all together, but I think it would be an amazing project for actors/directors/costumers, Hellenists/comparative religion enthusiasts and students, and anthropologists alike.

Of course there are more things I have an interest in acting in, directing, or something else, but that's a good basic grounding in some of the things I love within the world of theatre.
